**shrugs emoji** That’s a classic refashion from a curtain reference, no? I’m no cash-strapped Scarlett O’Hara going to woo Rhett Butler to save my family’s tax heavy plantation. I just wanted to make something cute for my trip to Cartagena.
And I found this super cute sheer dotted curtain at one of my favorite stores, Home Goods!! It was $17 total! They actually often have curtains for cheaper but I didn’t want to chance missing out on this and I want to say I was in the Hamptons when I grabbed this. Totally out of my local range!
I’ve often found the most beautiful curtains, sheets, tablecloths, or placemats at Home Goods or Target!! And they’re usually super reasonably priced. I typically leave them because what am I going to do with random house goods?! I hardly ever want to use them what they’re intended for. I just love the fabric or material used. But now!!! AHA!! Guess who’s going scouring through Home Goods this weekend? 🙋🏾♀️
How’d I make this? I cut 2 pieces for the sleeves according to how long and how full I wanted the sleeves. I closed it up and added an elastic to the top of the tube equal to my upper arm and an elastic to the bottom equal to my forearm. I cut a rectangle long enough to wrap around my bust and tie and bow in the front. I finished any raw edges and attached the sleeves and, “VOILA!” or should I say, “¡Aqui tienes!”
You want to see some CRAZY refashioning? Check out Tiffany!! The garments she makes and refashions are insane!!! I’ll be looking through Home Goods like WWTD (What Would Tiffany Do?).
